What’s the difference? Before you even think about clicking onto an online store or setting foot in a shop, make sure you’re clear on what’s what – it’ll make the search a lot easier!
Travel systems
If you’re looking for both a car seat and a pram, an all-in-1 travel system is perfect as they combine a carrycot, pushchair and infant carrier. Not only does this mean you’ll have a matching set but they’re great when you’re moving baby from car to pram. As there’s no need to lift them out to transfer them from one to the other – they can carry on napping in peace.

The car seats included in travel systems are usually Group 0, so they’ll last from birth to around 6 months.It’s worth noting that some travel systems are priced altogether as one whilst others are sold separately – so read the product descriptions carefully to see what’s included.
Pushchairs and Prams
Prams are great for newborn babies as they allow your baby to lie in that all-important flat position. Some prams will also convert to a pushchair when your child is ready. Pushchairs are more sturdy than a stroller, can be reclined fully and can be either parent or forward facing.
