There’s nothing me and my daughter Eve love more than rolling our sleeves up, donning our aprons and doing a spot of baking (check out our cupcake blog)! So, this Christmas, I’m on the lookout for some top gifts for my future chef and have found some great things in the Uber Kids collection – here are 8 of my favourites!
Top 8 Gifts For A Future Chef

Really, I quite enjoy the game Fruit Ninja and the BigJigs Cutting Fruit Crate reminds me of that. There’s lots of variety and it promotes healthy eating, what’s not to like? The Melissa and Doug Food Groups Wooden Play Food is great, well, you’ve gotta have food to cook with, right? It’ll fill up the cupboards in the Play Kitchen and the Melissa and Doug Snacks and Sweets Food Cart! The actual wooden crates are a nice touch too.

From my point of view, I love the retro look of the Melissa and Doug Snacks and Sweets Food Cart! It’s got loads of food bits to go with it. The reversible hotdog/ice cream awning/menu is a neat idea too- you get 2 playsets in one essentially. The Learning Resources Bake and Learn set is a clever idea to help with number recognition whilst having fun. I like that the cake has different numbers of layers per slice to correspond with the numbers on the sides. Plus, it’s nice and bright and chunky (like me, really).

The BigJigs Cake Stand with Cakes is a hit – the cakes look good enough to eat (especially the Battenberg, mmm). It’s perfect for a play tea party and hard for a child to break too. Their Strawberry Party Cake also looks yummy and Eve would enjoy pretending to slice and serve it at a tea party.

The BigJigs Chef Set is actually really useful when baking with kids – so it’s high up on my list. Cute Gingham pattern available in either red or blue. Eve would love the chef’s hat in particular!
Star buy!
My star buy is the BigJigs Play Kitchen. It’s a one-stop shop for kitchen play, it’d be perfect for a nursery or an infant school classroom, I particularly like the fact you can change the window to a ‘specials’ chalkboard
