Christmas Memories with Uber Kids

“My goodness, hasn’t this year just flown by?” We’ve all caught ourselves saying this, especially now that we’ve blinked and found ourselves at the end of yet another year.

Now that we’re leaving 2019 behind, where exactly has this year gone? Now that we’re safely in the season of mulled wine and mince pies, we have the time to relax and reflect on the year that’s passed.

Whether you’re celebrating Christmas or other season holidays, we can all agree it’s the perfect time to spend some quality time with your loved ones. Here at Uber Kids we took the time to ask the truly important questions, and wanted to share a little bit of our Christmas with you.

I took the time to ask the Uberkids team some truly difficult questions. Some of the responses are wonderful and ever so warming.

When is it a suitable time to put up your Christmas decorations?

One question that continues to divide opinions is just when should you put up your Christmas decorations? When should you put up your Christmas decorations?

One thing we could all agree on is December is the ideal time to put up your Christmas decorations. Everyone says that the first week of December is the prime time to put up decorations, but Beth chooses to install her shiny fixtures and the towering tree just two weeks before the big day.

What was the toy you wanted the most as a kid?

Danny

Do you remember Bumblebee from Transformers? Well, there was a big Transformer that transformed from the lovely yellow Camaro to the colossal robot himself. As I was pretty young, this toy was out of my age range, so I only played with him once, maybe I will again this year.

Jack

This changed from year to year, so it’s hard to pick! I’d have to say my games console, especially my Sega Mega Drive which was my very first games console! I had wanted a games console for ages, I finally got one and probably didn’t sleep for a week.

What is your favourite Christmas cracker joke?

Beth

How did Mary and Joseph figure out baby Jesus was exactly 7lb 9oz? They had a weigh in a manger.

Jon

Did Rudolph go to school?

No, he was Elf-taught.

Danny

What’s the most popular Christmas wine?

“I don’t like sprouts!”

How early do you start your Christmas shopping?

Unsurprisingly, a lot of the team are parents and know the need to be organised and start shopping as early as October, whereas some of us are a little more… last minute, not that we’re going to name names

Now, I’m not going to name and shame Jack and Danny for being this organised, but clearly, their plan works as this isn’t the first time, they have done this, and we are certain of this.

What Christmas present stands out over others?

Lucinda

My grandparents bought me a bingo game! I made the whole family play it on Christmas day, but it seemed to disappear on boxing day and was never found again!

Jon

My Xbox 360. All of my friends had one in school, it was the latest console out, with all-new next-generation games. – I loved it!

Beth

My first Windows desktop PC (yes, I am that old that they were a new and exciting thing to own!)

Kirsty

Plane tickets, because they enabled me to go and visit my dad over in America.

What is your favourite Christmas memory?

Pete

The magical feeling of waking up thinking Father Christmas had visited, but equally more recent memories seeing family members getting that same feeling is very special.

Kirsty

The year my dad visited from the US, it was the first Christmas I’d spent with him in years!

Danny

Running down the stairs one Christmas morning and seeing what I thought was a new bike. I was right!

What are you doing this Christmas?

As you can see, although we all may have our own plans, there’s one thing we’re all agreed on, Christmas is not just about gift giving, but spending time with those most important to you, whether family or friends. So from everyone here at Uber Kids, we wish you the very merriest of Christmases, and can’t wait to see you in 2020!
