Joolz Birth Forest

Our earth could be a bit greener, therefore, since 2013, Joolz has planted a tree for every registered pushchair in the Joolz Birth Forest in Colombia. Joolz works together with Tree-Nation. A planting community dedicated to fighting climate change, deforestation and poverty by planting trees. The La Pedregoza Plantation is located in the Orinoco River basin in Colombia and is known as ‘the lungs of the world’. Close to the rainforest, this is the perfect location to contribute to CO² reduction and bring sustainable development to birth forestthe local community. The Joolz Birth Forest has 7 different types of trees and its total surface is already more than 52 football fields. Since the beginning, the annual emissions of more than 4.500 cars have been compensated. Enough reasons to make the earth even greener. Since last year, Joolz is boosting their planting initiative and started planting one tree for every pushchair sold.

Joolz reusable Packaging

The Joolz products are safely packed in cardboard. Usually, there is only one place for this: the wastepaper bin. Too bad, they said at Joolz. And really not sustainable. “At Joolz, we want our products to contribute to a positive, healthy and meaningful life, from pregnancy to the first day at school”, says Creative Director and owner Emile Kuenen. Therefore, they came up with a second, useful, life for the packaging of Joolz. Since 2011 every box – from the pushchair itself, but also from every accessory – can be made into cardboard chairpractical and beautiful product. From a lampshade to a bird house and from a picture frame to a chair. “At first, I saw the cardboard as a necessary evil to protect our products during carriage and storage, but now you can cut out all kinds of products and make them in to beautiful projects. I started to look at cardboard differently,” continues Kuenen. You will find the directions on the boxes for cutting out and building one of the fine products.
